Badis Saidani
Senior Software Engineer—Backend & Full-Stack Systems
I design, build, and operate backend systems for regulated industries — banking risk platforms, retail POS infrastructure, credit application services. Ten years across the full stack, with a focus on Java/Spring services, clean architecture, and systems that have to be right the first time.
01 · About
Who's operating this system
I'm a backend-focused software engineer with a Master's in Computer Science and ten years building systems that regulated industries actually depend on — Spring Boot microservices for Citi's risk & regulatory reporting, checkout infrastructure for Home Depot, credit-application flows for JCPenney, and testing automation for Walmart's POS platform.
I lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and hold code reviews to a standard of clean design and real test coverage — not just green checkmarks. For two semesters I also taught as an adjunct lecturer at Keiser University, running short courses on cloud computing, Java development, and system architecture for students entering the field.
Outside of production code: piano, and travel when the on-call rotation allows it.

Deployment log
Leading development on Citi's Risk & Regulatory Reporting platform: Spring Boot microservices, Kubernetes deployment pipelines built on Ansible and Helm, and automation that replaced manual Excel-based reporting workflows.
Built an RSA encryption module for checkout microservices and refactored shared Spring Boot components to cut redundancy across the API layer.
Built JCPenney's credit-application flow engine on Spring Boot and Vue, and led automation of Walmart's internal POS testing framework.
Delivered Java/J2EE modules and REST/SOAP services for a state-government case management system.
Five years on core platform services — Spring, Hibernate, and Angular — laying the architecture foundations everything since has built on.

Where the code lives
Most of my production work lives in private, client-owned repositories — Citi, Home Depot, Walmart, JCPenney. What's public is on GitHub: personal projects and experiments outside the day job.
